298765_2333936197002_30048280_nHere I am again to tell you about my journey to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The last time I wrote, I couldn’t wait to finally be able to get back on my skis. I had this possibility in the second half of September, at Zermatt in Switzerland.

The conditions were great, there was snow and I was super happy to have skis on my feet again. Unfortunately, after a few turns I realised that my leg, which had been operated on, was still sore. I tried again the day after, but the pain was still there. Because of this, with the help of my trainers and doctors, we decided that it might be better if I continue with rehabilitation.

I returned home and started to train in the gym, going for bike rides and did lots of running. In the meantime, I even started going back to the park and ice skating with friends, without feeling the same pain I had when I tried skiing. This was very good. I am now waiting to receive a call for my operation to remove the screw from my femur.

1388728_10202176372039924_48550917_nAbout a month after this operation, I will be in perfect form, ready to think about my return to competing. I wish I was already with my team mates who are training ahead of the new season. I have to continue with my programme to join them as soon as possible.

The Freestyle season will start, traditionally in December in Finland, with the first moguls competition for the 2013/2014 World Cup. It would be hard for me to get there, but there is hope that I can go to the United States for a slopestyle competition that is at Copper Mountain on the 18th of December.

994613_10201981732494057_69183654_nEven if I wasn’t ready to compete, I could still go to be amongst the atmosphere of competition before the first slopestyle World Cup events. These are set for January at Northstar (USA) and Gstaad (SUI), where I would be ready to play my cards before Sochi.

Today is exactly 100 days until the Winter Olympics, 2014. The Olympic flame is already on its way to Russia, exactly where I want to be, at Sochi and participate in what would be my first ever Olympic games. I will give it my all and I hope you continue to follow my journey. Goodbye until next time!!
