Road to Sochi 2014 Arianna Fontana ep.5: “100 days to go!”

969333_10202249023208623_407144486_nHello to all readers of, on my Road to Sochi i left you with my video of summer training and here we are now. Wow -100!!! Time is flying!! I am very overwhelmed and it is as if I have lost track of time. I have already competed in two World Cup events in Asia and it went awesome! I am very happy with my racing, I competed well, I tried some new tactics and I didn’t want to be on the podium easily.

Every time in the finals, I aimed for the gold and it went pretty well for me. Two bronze medals, one in the 500m and the other in the relay where we also broke an Italian record by two seconds. Not bad if I do say so myself! Now I am getting ready for the next two Short Track World Cup events, the will be the deciders because they are Olympic qualifiers: these two events will decide who goes to the Olympics.

1391427_10202249023528631_977862875_nIt’s the last week of training here in Courmayeur and from today the American team will also be with us, because of this we organised a friendly event. On the 2nd of November from 6pm, there will be a competition, Italy vs USA. It will be fun!!!

I am in Italy for training because the first of the two events will be, believe it or not, in Torino from the 7th till the 10th of November! It is a huge advantage being able to compete at home, you have an extra boost, more excitement and my family and all my friends will be there too! I hope that a lot of other Italians will join us at the PalaTazzoli in Torino to cheer us on! The weekend after, we will be in Kolomna, Russia for the fourth and final World Cup event. After this last one, we will definitely know how many will be going to Sochi!

So I will wait for you in Torino, it will be my first step to the Olympics and I would like to share it with as many people as possible! Until next time!!
